Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology (IR) | Travel Contract
Location: Mishawaka, IN
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
Call Requirement: 4–5 nights per pay period, including weekend call
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) for a 13-week travel contract in Mishawaka, Indiana.
This position is ideal for an RN with strong critical care, procedural, and interventional radiology experience who can provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
- Perform patient assessments and review medical histories, medications, allergies, and laboratory results.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including IV access, medication administration, and patient education.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, and patient responses throughout procedures.
- Administer sedation and medications as ordered, following facility protocols.
- Assist physicians with image-guided procedures such as biopsies, angiograms, vascular access, and catheter placements.
- Monitor patients for complications, including bleeding, contrast reactions, and changes in hemodynamic status.
- Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, interventional physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Previous Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or related procedural nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of patient monitoring, procedural care, and emergency interventions.
- Ability to participate in weekday and weekend call rotations.
Schedule & Contract Details
- 13-week travel assignment
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- 1 weekend per month
- 4–5 nights of call per pay period, including weekend call
