Travel RN – Cardiac Neuro ICU

Unit: Cardiac Neuro ICU (653)

1. Shift & Contract Details

• Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

2. Unit & Facility Details

• Unit Type: Cardiac Neuro ICU
• Patient Ratio: 1:2, occasionally 1:1 or 1:3
• EMR: Meditech
• Day Staff: 10–12 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 PCT
• Night Staff: 10–12 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 0 PCT

3. Mandatory Requirements

Must Have

• Minimum 1 year of current hospital ICU experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Neuro ICU experience.

4. Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Meditech experience.
• Previous travel experience in a large hospital ICU.
• Cardiac ICU experience.

5. Equipment & Clinical Skills

Candidates should have experience with:

• Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).
• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).
• Targeted Temperature Management (TTM).
• External Ventricular Drains (EVDs).
• Central lines and arterial lines.
• Vasoactive medication drips.
• Sedation and paralytic medications.

6. Procedures Performed

• STEMI and NSTEMI heart catheterizations.
• Balloon pump and Impella management.
• Cardioversion.
• TTM post-cardiac arrest.
• Neuro thrombectomy and coiling procedures.
• EVD management.
• CRRT.

7. Important Unit Policies

• Mandatory bedside shift reporting.
• Mandatory multidisciplinary rounds (MDRs).
• Must be organized, efficient, driven, and maintain a positive attitude.
