Description

Retail Pharmacist

Position Requirements:

Active California Pharmacist License required.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college.
Current BLS Certification required.
Must comply with all applicable State and Federal pharmacy regulations.
Maintain required annual continuing education.
Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare, compound, dispense, and distribute prescribed medications.
Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and drug interactions.
Provide medication counseling to patients, including dosage, side effects, and storage instructions.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns.
Maintain proper medication storage, inventory, and controlled substance records.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy safety and quality standards.
Manage prescription billing and resolve insurance rejection issues.
Maintain accurate pharmacy records and patient information.
Report medication errors and follow safety procedures.
Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain pharmacy policies and follow updated regulations.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.
Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
