Description

Specialty: Radiation Therapy
Setting: Acute Care
Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts; varied start times between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience.
BLS certification.
Active ARRT(T) certification.
Varian equipment experience.
EPIC proficiency required, with experience within the last 2 years.
License required at submission.
Must live more than 100 miles from the facility.

Department Details:

Average 40–45 treatments per day.
2 treatment rooms.
Level II Trauma facility.
Radiation Therapist lead on shift.
Radiation physician in-house.
No Registered Radiology Assistants.

Responsibilities:

Assist patients on and off the treatment table.
Support treatment procedures, primarily with starting and stopping the radiation beam.
Work with Varian equipment and the department's treatment software.

Systems & Equipment:

EMR: EPIC.
PACS/treatment software: ARIA.
Equipment: Varian.

Schedule & Call:

8-hour shifts with varied start times.
Weekend coverage is very infrequent.
No call or standby requirement.
No holiday requirement specified.
No floating to other departments.
No blocked scheduling requests.
No more than 5 days of RTO.

Dress Code:

Black scrubs; not provided.

Orientation:

1 day NEO.
1 day modules/clinical orientation.
1 day on the unit.
