Job Title: Surgery Tech II, Operating Room
Location: Irvine, CA 92618
Duration: 6-8 weeks could go longer
Shift: 1st, 630-1500, 8hr shifts Days: Monday -Friday, no weekends

Job Description: 
Participates as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of an RN, Charge Nurse, or Clinical Manager. Functions in the scrub role, assisting physicians and nursing staff during surgical procedures while supporting direct and indirect patient care. Responsible for preparing, organizing, and maintaining surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and specialty items according to physician preference cards, manufacturer guidelines, infection prevention standards, and departmental policies. Maintains sterile technique, performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts, and assists with equipment decontamination and care. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and promotes patient safety throughout the perioperative experience. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience 

• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program or equivalent military medical core training (not required for GI Lab)
• Minimum of two-three years of Surgery Tech/scrub experience. Must be current and within an ambulatory surgery setting or acute healthcare environment.
• Must have experience with Breast, GYN, General, Urology, Ophthalmology, and ENT cases.

Certifications Required 

• BLS

Certifications Preferred 

• Certification as Surgical Technologist
