Portland, ME

First Assist Congenital Cardiac Nurse

OR Coverage Tuesday/Thursday aprox. 20 hours (10 hrs/day) as well as an additional 4-8 hours Wednesday/Friday post operatively.

Total 28-36 hours per week.

Call Coverage is negotiable but it would be overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday or Thursday into Friday post-surgery to cover overnight returns to the OR.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of operating room experience, with at least 1-2 years in cardiac surgery.
Travel experience preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in congenital cardiac surgery.

Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in first-assist techniques and sterile field management.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Required Education and Licensure

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maine and/or compact licensure.
Completion of an accredited RNFA program.
CNOR certification (preferred).
BLS, ACLS, PALS
