Job Details:

Location: Florence, SC, 29506

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Schedule

• No on-call requirement
• Every other weekend (EOW)
• Assignments may include step-down and general floor units.

Required Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• BLS
• ACLS

Workload & Patient Assignments

• Average of 8 ventilated patients per unit assignment.
• Floor assignments may cover 3–4 floors.
• Approximately 2–3 intrahospital transports per shift, including CT, MRI, and Specials.
• Must be comfortable working in both step-down and general floor settings.

Equipment Used

• Servo-i ventilators
• V60 BiPAP
• i-STAT for ABG analysis

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct respiratory care and perform respiratory therapy procedures throughout the facility.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Organize workload to ensure treatments are completed on schedule.
• Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response calls.
• Assess and monitor patients, exercise sound clinical judgment, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care, treatments, and reports accurately and promptly.
• Participate in departmental meetings and respiratory care education.
• Evaluate patient responses and recommend changes when appropriate.
• Maintain professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
