Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and certified Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) to join the Surgery Center team in Basalt, Colorado. The selected candidate will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and maintaining sterile supplies to support safe and efficient surgical operations.

This position requires hands-on experience with orthopedic surgical instruments, as well as the ability to process endoscopes and EGD equipment for scheduled endoscopy procedures.

The Surgery Center is an off-campus location staffed by one SPD Technician, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with the Perioperative team.
 

Key Responsibilities
-Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments.

-Process orthopedic surgical instruments and equipment.

-Perform endoscope and EGD instrument reprocessing for endoscopy procedures.

-Maintain inventory of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.

-Ensure proper sterilization procedures and infection prevention standards are followed.

-Prepare and distribute sterile instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.

-Support Perioperative staff to ensure smooth and efficient procedure operations.

-Maintain adequate sterile supplies for the Surgery Center and associated departments and clinics.
 

Required Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent.

-Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience.

-Current CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) certification.

-Hands-on orthopedic instrument processing experience.

-Ability to process endoscopes and EGD equipment.

-Ability to work independently in a single-technician Sterile Processing department.

Requirements: 
-Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience.

-Active CRCST or CSPDT certification.

-Orthopedic instrument processing experience.

-Endoscope and EGD processing experience.

-Flu vaccination – no exemptions.

-Updated resume and certification copy available.
