Travel Pre-Op / PACU RN — South Dakota

• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours weekly. This posting is labeled 12-hour variable; the unit describes 3×12s with shifts between 5 AM and 11 PM. Separate night-only notes conflict on shift count, so confirm the schedule before accepting.
• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years; first-time travelers accepted. Must be comfortable with pre-op, recovery, discharge, and caring for boarded patients. Night-only RNs must have critical care experience with hemodynamic drips and ventilated patients.
• License and certifications: South Dakota RN licensure and graduation from a board-approved nursing program listed. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Epic is used; candidates without Epic experience may be sent for approval.
• Unit and ratios: 24 pre-op/Phase II bays and 19 PACU bays, serving infants through older adults. Pre-op 1:2–3, PACU 1:1–2, Phase II 1:2–4, based on acuity.
• Floating and skills: Rotates through pre-op, PACU, Phase II, and endoscopy prep/discharge. Skills include IV insertion, blood transfusions, moderate sedation monitoring, and epidural/PCA setup; some competencies may be learned during orientation.
• Call and holidays: Weekend call every 4 weeks and weekday overnight call (11 PM–7 AM) about every 3–5 weeks. Night-only RNs are exempt from weekday overnight call. 15-minute response time; holiday call rotates, with 2 holidays per year listed.
• Orientation and time off: Manager interview; facility orientation plus one week of unit orientation. Time off requires manager approval; none during the first 3 weeks of August. Navy blue scrubs; free garage parking.
