Description
Travel Labor & Delivery RN — South Dakota
Job ID: 64850368 | TotalMed Travel
- Schedule: 12-hour nights, 36 guaranteed hours weekly, every other weekend. Low-census call rotates based on staffing needs.
- Experience: Candidates with 1 year of experience are considered only if it’s specific to L&D. First-time travelers accepted with L&D experience.
- Credentials: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required. South Dakota RN licensure and graduation from a board-approved nursing program are listed.
- Unit and ratios: 8-bed unit covering labor, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care, including a Level II-A nursery. Ratios are 1:2 for labor and 1:3–4 for couplets.
- Skills and charting: Fetal monitoring interpretation and intervention, plus adult and neonatal assessments. Post-op gynecology and mastectomy experience preferred. Epic charting.
- Floating: May assist Med/Surg as helping hands or in a CNA role, within scope.
- Eligibility: Must live more than 100 miles from the facility. Former permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as travelers.
- Holidays and time off: Rotating schedule lists 3 holidays worked and 1 on call; confirm how this applies to the contract. Submit time-off requests before the next schedule is posted.
- Other: Manager interview, typically 1 week of orientation, hospital-provided scrubs, and free parking.
