An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Westwood, NJ 07675. Operating within an acute care medical center, this clinical assignment features a desirable 36-hour daytime schedule (07:00 – 19:30 / 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour day shifts guaranteed weekly). Clinical management spans acute respiratory failure, multi-system organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), lethal dysrhythmias, severe sepsis/septic shock, and acute neurological events. • (Travelers only; clinicians residing within a 50-mile radius are not accepted per facility policy).

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (07:00 – 19:30 / 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks.
• Block Scheduling: Block schedules are not offered.
• On-Call Requirements: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED!
• Weekend Coverage: Per department scheduling rotation.
• Department Setting & Scope: Acute Inpatient Intensive Care Unit (ICU) caring for complex medical, surgical, and multi-system critical care patients.
• Floating Scope: Floats to like acute/stepdown inpatient units within clinical competency based on operational needs.
• Clinical Scope & Specialty Care:
  • Direct intensive care bedside nursing for multi-system organ dysfunction, acute respiratory distress, severe sepsis, and critical post-operative patients.
  • Mechanical ventilation: invasive mechanical ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP surveillance, endotracheal/nasotracheal (ET/NT) suctioning, and ABG interpretation.
  • Critical pharmacology: continuous titration of vasoactive infusions, cardiac inotropes/pressors, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications.
  • Hemodynamic and invasive line care: arterial line setup, calibration, and monitoring; central venous catheter care; and blood product administration.
  • Continuous cardiac telemetry surveillance, rapid dysrhythmia interpretation, lethal rhythm management, and Code/Rapid Response participation.
  • Standard and transmission-based isolation precautions (PPE) and infection control.
• EMR System: Epic electronic health record.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience Requirement: Minimum 1.5 years of dedicated acute care inpatient ICU RN clinical experience (first-time travel nurses accepted).
• Licensure (Strict Hard Stop): Active New Jersey State Registered Nurse (RN) License or Multi-State Compact RN License strictly in hand at submittal (pending licenses cannot be submitted).
• Certifications Required at Submittal (Must all be active and attached):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) only.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — AHA only.
• Preferred Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
• EMR Competency: Epic EHR experience.
