Social Worker – Behavioral Health Therapist

Job Responsibilities

This is a dual-role position supporting the hospital's inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) while also conducting psychiatric level-of-care assessments throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct in-person psychiatric intake and assessments.
• Manage an inpatient behavioral health caseload.
• Provide individual therapy, group sessions, and patient check-ins.
• Perform psychiatric assessments in the ED and medical floors.
• Develop safety plans and assist with discharge planning.
• Communicate with families and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide de-escalation and patient support when needed.
• Complete clinical documentation using EPIC.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Active Utah License required.
• Must be independently licensed and able to practice without supervision.
• LCSW preferred.
• BLS (AHA) required.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Additional Details

• Patient Caseload: Up to 10 inpatient patients per day.
• Additional Consults: 3–4 per day on medical floors/ED.
• Orientation: 12 hours, including 1:1 training with the Lead Therapist.
• Dress Code: Business Casual.
• No weekend requirements.
• Holiday availability required.
• Candidates must be within a 60-mile radius; driver's license must be submitted.
• Clinicians must be in Utah during orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely.
