This is a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position.

The nurse may float between:

• PICU – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• NICU – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• CVICU – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
• Acute Medical-Surgical departments
• Emergency Room

Required experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in pediatric critical care.
• Experience in PICU, NICU, or CVICU is required.
• Must be comfortable floating across multiple pediatric critical care units.

Preferred experience:

• Acute care experience.
• Emergency Room experience.
• TNCC certification.

Required certifications

• BLS
• PALS
• ACLS

Candidate screening questions

1. Do you have at least 2 years of recent pediatric critical care experience?
2. Have you worked in PICU, NICU, or CVICU?
3. Which of these units have you independently worked in?
4. Are you comfortable floating between PICU, NICU, and CVICU?
5. Do you have experience in pediatric acute care or the Emergency Room?
6. Do you have current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications?
7. Have you worked with Cerner?
8. Are you comfortable working the 6:45 AM–7:15 PM shift?
9. Are you comfortable floating to different departments based on staffing needs?

Important recruiter notes

Strict experience requirement

• This is NOT a general Medical-Surgical RN position.
• Recent pediatric critical care experience is essential.
• PICU, NICU, or CVICU experience is required.
• Candidates must be flexible with floating.
• Cerner experience is important to confirm.

Best candidates: Pediatric ICU nurses with recent PICU/CVICU/NICU experience and the ability to adapt to multiple critical care environments.

Clarification to ask the account manager: Does the candidate need experience in all three areas (PICU, NICU, and CVICU), or is 2 years of recent experience in at least one of these specialties sufficient?
