Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• Night shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 3x12 schedule
• 1:2 ratio
• 24 hours of call in a 6-week period
• Guaranteed hours: 40
• First-timers accepted
• Weekend requirement: Friday-Sunday
• Float scope: within service line
• No block schedule
• Locals not accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending license accepted
• No more than 7 days of RTO

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required
• Critical care experience required
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Level I Trauma Center experience

Unit / Clinical Setting

• PACU in Parkview Tower
• Level I Trauma PACU
• Separate IR Pre/Post area
• Surgical patients include GU, GYN, Colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, Bariatric, and some ENT

Clinical Notes

• Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op first cases from 5:30 AM–7:30 AM when there are no PACU patients
• PACU nurses need proficiency with complicated postoperative patients, including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
