Registered Nurse - Step Down

Location: Dayton, Ohio

Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Unit: Step Down
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (12 hours per day, 48 hours per week for a 4x12 schedule)
• Patient ratios: Targeted 1:4, can be up to 1:5-6
• Weekend/holiday: Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Cancellations: The facility may cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract. The agreement can be canceled with 2 weeks' notice.
• Time off requests (RTO): Must be requested with the initial submittal. No RTO can be added after the offer. Approval is at the manager's discretion.

Floating

• The traveler is first to float, at the facility's discretion.
• Floating occurs in and out of specialty clusters, to a medically appropriate assignment or to support the nursing care team of the unit floated to.
• Possible float locations include the main campus, a south campus (less than 10 miles from the main campus), and a north campus (less than 15 miles from the main campus).

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid Ohio RN license
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Stepdown experience of at least 1 year, including stepdown experience within the last year
• Must have experience with stable chronic ventilators
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Experience with Epic
