Tele RN (Per Diem)

Overview

• Location: Placentia, California
• Employment type: Per Diem
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 12 hours (7:00 to 19:30)
• Availability: At least one day per week

Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Float scope: Will float to MS
• Unit size: Average daily census 23, 5 visits, 16 rooms, 30 beds

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• ACLS and BLS must be AHA or RQI. Instructor cards are not accepted.
• State license verification (primary source)
• 2 references from leadership (Department Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Assistant Nurse Manager) who supervised the candidate within the last year, obtained within 1 year of start
• Continuing education documentation from the last 24 months (must list name, course, date, and at least 1 contact hour)
• Government-issued photo ID
• Must live within a 50-mile radius
• 1-year separation from the health system
• Signed HIPAA acknowledgement
• Must complete the Medication/Calculation exam and the Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (80% passing score required)
• Unit-specific competency exam
• Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam (80% passing score required)

Preferred

• CPI (Blue Card only; other CPI courses and MAB are not accepted)
• ER holding
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Tracheostomy care and management

Health and Compliance

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (PAPR accepted only with proof of a failed N95 fit test)
• Negative PPD, TSpot, or QuantiFERON-Gold within 1 year of start. If positive, a negative chest X-ray within 4 years and an annual TB questionnaire are required.
• Rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines after age 1
• Hepatitis B series or declination (titer not accepted)
• Hepatitis C titer strongly preferred; declination accepted
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen accepted; not required to be updated annually)
• Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Flu vaccine required by 12/5 (2026-27 season), or a signed declination. Declinations require masking at all times if no flu vaccine is on file during flu season.

Orientation

• 1 day shift orientation, scheduled based on availability, Monday to Friday
• 12 hours on unit
• 12 to 14 hours of pre-start modules
• Remote Epic test-out; required modules must be completed if the test-out is failed
• Confidentiality agreement must be completed within 72 hours of signing
