Registered Nurse - PCU Float

• Location: Pasadena, California
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 8 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:00)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Details

• Assignment: 100% float pool. The RN must be willing to float to Telemetry (Tele) and non-Telemetry units.
• Staffing Ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Unencumbered California RN license, verified through NURSYS
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience (2 years)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• 1 year or more of total travel experience
• Current ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Current BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Driver's License
• Experience with Epic

Competencies (Required)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam, updated annually
• Competency Exam with 80% pass rate, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with 80% pass rate, required for Tele RNs
• Core Part I, II, and III, updated annually

Onboarding and Compliance

• Time-sensitive items (within 2 business days of signing): Physical exam, Tdap, negative TB test or chest X-ray, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 10-panel drug screen
• Background checks: Completed within 30 days of start and updated annually, including OIG, SAM, and OFAC checks
• Fit testing: Mask fit test within 12 months of start, renewed annually
• Influenza: Flu vaccine or documented religious/medical exemption on file by 10/29 for the 2026-27 season (if declined, must always wear a mask)
• Other: Hepatitis B titer, vaccines, or declination (preferred); photo for badge; TB questionnaire (annually if TB positive); 2 professional references (supervisor level or above preferred); employment history covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days; skills checklist current within 12 months
