Overview

Occupational Therapist role in a long term care (LTC) setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Missouri
• 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience
• Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience in a Long Term Care or Rehabilitation setting

Preferred

• New grads considered as long as they have Level II experience, not just Level I observation experience

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders
• Develops plans of care and provides skilled, medically necessary treatment
• Uses standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
• Performs ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assesses progress, adjusts treatments, evaluates outcomes, and makes referrals as needed
• Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Communicates with supervisor and other health team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
• Provides discharge summaries
• Documents required information in the electronic documentation system
• Records treatment minutes
• Participates in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Obtains necessary DME or supplies
• Supervises and supports occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students
