Medical Technologist - Lab

Location: Pasadena, TX Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

• Unit: Lab, 1st floor
• Coverage: Lab testing supports 396 beds plus a rehab hospital
• Day shift (12-hour): 1 tech in each department, 1 tech floating between Hematology and Chemistry, 3 phlebotomists, 1 lab assistant
• Night shift: 4 techs, 2 phlebotomists, usually 1 lab assistant
• Equipment: 2 Siemens Atellica, 2 Sysmex XN3000 with slide stainer and CellaVision, 2 ACL TOPs, 1 Arkray, 1 Ortho Vision, PFA, Sofia 2, limited microbiology
• Procedures: STAT and routine testing on blood and other body fluids
• Schedule: Rotating weekends; on call if applicable

Required Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification
• MLT certification
• 1 year of Medical Technologist experience, obtained within the last year
