Schedule and Hours

• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Hours: 12 per day, 48 per week
• Weekends: 8 weekend shifts in the 6-week schedule period, a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• On-call: Not required
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks. Cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length.
• Return-to-office restriction: No more than 7 days
• Floating: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• PCU experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with cardiac drips, including titratable drips
• IV insulin protocol management
• Feeding tube care and management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Blood product administration
• Experience with the care and management of invasive lines
• IV insertion skills
• Heparin protocol management
• Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) experience

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exam, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam, required for all new contracts, 80% pass rate
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam, must meet the Angoff score or score 80% or higher if no Angoff score is available
• Unit-specific skills checklist, required within 1 year of start

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• TB screening: two negative PPDs (first within 1 year, second within 30 days of start), or a negative T-Spot or Q-Gold within 1 year of start. Yearly TB questionnaire required.
• Tdap vaccine or declination (Tdap expires every 10 years)
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or MD statement of immunity. Negative or equivocal titers require two boosters or a signed declination.
• Hepatitis B declination, completed via DocuSign
• Drug screen within 1 year of start, must not expire during assignment. Panel includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP.
• Influenza vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 to 03/31)
• Color blindness test within 12 months of start
• N95 fit test (any N95 model acceptable, can be completed onsite)

Background and Documentation

• Criminal background check within 6 months of start, with a 7-year search
• Education verification of highest nursing education
• OIG/EPLS/SAM exclusion searches, run quarterly
• Missouri EDL search (required for Missouri placements), renewed quarterly during assignment
• Missouri Highway Patrol check, renewed annually
• Two professional references (supervisors within the last year preferred)
• Employment application
• Government-issued photo ID
• Recent photo for badge (taken within 6 months of start)

Onboarding

• Required orientation modules for all RNs, approximately 16 hours, completed through an online training platform
• Facility modules (glucose meter and infusion pump training, if assigned), completed before the start date
• Signed policies before start: HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy (non-compliance may result in being sent home from shifts), dress code policy
• Latex allergy questionnaire
• Regulatory compliance education quiz, score of 80% or higher required
