Registered Nurse – MS/Tele (Medical Surgical/Telemetry)

Location: Waynesboro, Pennsylvania Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30), 36 hours/week

Role Overview

• Unit: Medical Surgical department, Waynesboro hospital, units "3 Center" and "3 Main"
• Department hours: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Population: Adult inpatients and outpatients
• Primary patient population: Medical diagnoses, surgical diagnoses, telemetry patients, swing bed patients (care program), and overflow 2 South
• COVID care: May care for COVID patients
• Work environment: Tobacco- and fragrance-free facility

Schedule and Expectations

• Weekends and holidays: As needed
• Holiday requirement: Work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day). If the contract covers only 2 of these holidays, work 1 of 2. No more than 1 holiday off may be requested.
• Time off requests: Maximum 5 days
• Floating: May be asked to float to other Medical Surgical and rehab units as needed
• Selection process: Clinical pre-screen, then manager interview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic

Onboarding and Clearances

• Background checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • PA PATCH (state police criminal history) completed within 1 year of start, finalized before start
  • PA Child Abuse History Certification, completed within 5 years prior to start
  • PA FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start; may start with results pending if an appointment receipt is provided, but results must be on file within 45 days
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days
  • Medicheck search within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days
  • Highest level of education verified (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
• Drug screen: Negative 9-panel within 1 year of start
• Employment eligibility: I-9 and E-Verify attestation
• Health documents:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by an MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Negative QuantiFERON-TB Gold or T-SPOT within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted)
  • Tdap within 10 years of start
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: 2 doses or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B declination required; vaccine records or titers preferred
  • Flu vaccine or valid exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine, declination, or exemption
• Fit testing: Required within 1 year of start, updated annually, with results on file at least 3 business days before start
• Badge photo: Clear, professional, forward-facing headshot against a light background
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years of start

• Modules: Assigned onboarding modules must be completed before clearance, on a PC or laptop only
