RN-Intensive Care Unit

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7a-7p), weekend and holiday rotation, 36 hours per week

Position Overview

• Position: Float Pool RN
• Float scope: Nurses float between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU and must be comfortable caring for patients of varying acuity across these units.
• Role summary: Provides direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, admission, transfer, and discharge activities, patient and family education, and care coordination. Delegates and oversees team members' patient care tasks and participates in unit quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of float experience, including float experience within the last year
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience

• Hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report
• Prioritizing care as patient needs change
• Ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Flexibility and time management across multiple units
• Adherence to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Physical demands: frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs; frequent walking; repetitive motion and bending; color discrimination for clinical cues
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases
