Job info

Med Surg (Acute Care) RN

Assignment Overview

  • 13-week assignment starting ASAP
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 16-bed Med/Surg unit
  • 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Every other or every third weekend
  • No call requirements
  • Floating may include safety sitter or other supportive roles

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure in Illinois
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS
  • Experience in a rural hospital setting
  • Experience in outpatient infusions

Additional Notes

  • The unit uses Nihon Kohden telemetry, and RNs interpret their own strips
  • Support staff includes 1 CNA
  • High-flow oxygen and Vapotherm are available; more complex respiratory support is transferred to ICU
  • Orientation is provided during the first week
