Medical Lab Scientist

Location: Taos, New Mexico (hospital, facility name withheld) Specialty: Laboratory Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: ASAP only

Schedule

• Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:30)
• Weekends: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Location requirement: within a 75-mile radius

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Lab Scientist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ASCP certification

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background: 7-year criminal check, updated annually; sex offender, OFAC, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, with updates at each renewal. Any hits require an interview and written explanation, and the facility approves or denies case by case.
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start. Instant screens are not accepted.
• Physical exam: Within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• TB: Two negative PPDs, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year, updated annually. Candidates with a history of positive TB must provide a chest X-ray report.
• Immunizations and titers: Rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella (titer or 2 vaccines; low titers require 2 boosters). Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination). Tdap within 10 years, with declination allowed only for a documented medical reason.
• Influenza: Current flu vaccine or a completed declination form. Candidates who decline must wear a mask throughout flu season (10/1 to 3/31). Deadline for new and returning candidates: 10/31.
• Onboarding: Professional badge photo, TB questionnaire, facility orientation and policy forms, and fit testing on site.
