Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
• Setting: High-risk pregnancy clinic
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 5 x 8-hour days, 08:00 to 16:30; 40 hours can be offered

• Average daily census: 7 to 9 scans per day
• Patient diagnoses: Fetal echo, AMA, TVCL, growth, anatomy, Level II, and BPP
• Scrubs: Not provided; black
• Systems: EPIC and Viewpoint (software familiarity, not a credential)

Start Date and Scheduling Rules

• The expected start date follows the facility schedule but may change based on class and trainer availability.
• Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available with no other commitments.
• The final start date is confirmed on the Tuesday before the start week.
• Missing any part of orientation may delay or cancel the start.
• RTO after booking is not allowed and may not be worked onsite. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
• RTO is limited to 7 days maximum for auto offer.

Required Qualifications

• Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography (2 years of experience)
• Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience within the last year
• ARDMS (OB) certification
• Experience working with High Risk OB patients
• Experience working with OB-GYN patients
• Fetal Echo
• Nuchal Translucency Screen
• Umbilical Cord Doppler
• Inter/Intra-Orbital Measurements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing CVS and amniocentesis
• Equipment: PACS
• FE certification

Onboarding Requirements

• Background check: Required within 90 days of start, including county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG. Education verification for the highest degree specific to the profession is required, and a completed education verification must be on file (pending is not accepted).
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start.
• TB screening: PPD, QuantiFERON (Qgold), or T-SPOT within 1 year of start. A PPD result over 10 mm is positive, and a positive PPD requires a Qgold or T-SPOT. A positive Qgold or T-SPOT requires a clear chest X-ray within the last 5 years, a physician-signed physical within 30 days of start, and a TB questionnaire signed within 30 days of start.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines. Negative or equivocal titers require 2 boosters 28 days apart, and declinations are not accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or the facility-specific declination form. The facility does not accept the agency declination to cover low titers.
• Flu vaccine: Required. Intranasal vaccines are accepted. Exemptions require the exemption form and supporting documentation.
• Fit testing: Any N95 mask fit-tested within 1 year of start, or completion of the facility's PAPR training.
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years of start.
• Color blind test: Online test required within 1 year of start, with a score of 80% or higher.
• Facility paperwork and trainings: Employment application, confidentiality agreement, tobacco-free campus acknowledgment, hospital policies acknowledgment, job description, education roster (2 hours 45 minutes), medication safety training, annual compliance training (40 minutes), South Carolina non-facility worker orientation (2 hours 30 minutes), First Do No Harm (30 minutes), and bloodborne pathogens training.
• South Carolina annual mandatory education: Required only if the candidate worked for a South Carolina facility in the previous year (2 hours 30 minutes).
• Facility network account: Set up within the required timeframe, with proof of login to the facility learning portal before start.
