Cath Lab Tech

Location: Coon Rapids, Minnesota Employment Type: Travel/Contract Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Contract Length: 24 weeks Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 to 17:30 or 11:00 to 21:30 Hours: 10 per day, 40 per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Minnesota
• Cath Lab Technologist with 2 years of experience
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
• ARRT
• Experience with right and left heart hemodynamics
• Experience with atrial septal defect (ASD) closure
• Experience with patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure
• Experience with Impella
• Experience with EKOS
• Experience with RotoPro
• Experience with arthrectomy
• Experience with CSI

Responsibilities and Clinical Scope

• Caseload of 15 patients per tech in the department
• Special requirements: CV and PVD labs
• Diagnostic and interventional angiograms, right and left heart caths, ASD and PFO closures, Impella, EKOS, rota-pro, and arthrectomy
• Scrubbing stenting and driving the table
• Coronary and peripheral angiograms
• Stents, PFO, ASD, arthrectomy, EKOS, CSI, and rotablade procedures

Schedule and Call

• On-call every third weekend (off-site, 30-minute response time, sleep rooms available on site)
• On-call 2 weekdays every two weeks
• Return-to-origin (RTO) ideally no more than 5 days
• Does not accept block scheduling
• Client may cancel up to 3 shifts for any assigned candidate without penalty; on-call hours do not count toward guaranteed minimum hours

Float and Eligibility

• Does not float within scope to meet facility needs
• Floats to sister facilities as needed (will float to another facility in the system)
• Does not accept local candidates (within a 100-mile radius)

Onboarding Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year of start, including MN statewide search, SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, and FACIS Level 3 searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start
• Transcript or diploma verification
• Minnesota DHS clearance is required before starting, with fingerprinting completed through the state process
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Drug screen (9-panel or instant) within 1 year of start
• Tdap required (declinations not accepted; exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, and TB documentation, including titers or vaccine proof
• OSHA respirator clearance before start
• Competency exam and annual skills checklist required
• Pre-orientation online modules due within 72 hours of receiving login (3 to 9 hours)
• Badge photo on file within 48 hours of signing
