Location: Saint Marys, Pennsylvania Specialty: Laboratory Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 16:00 to 00:00 (5 x 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week) Schedule Note: 5x8s, EOW

Overview

• Phlebotomist support on site

Required Qualifications

• Medical Technologist experience (1 year)
• Medical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ASCP MT credential
• Experience in the blood bank

Licenses and Certifications

• State license: Primary source online verification required
• Tech certification verification (national): Required as applicable
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all travelers. AHA, ARC, or military certification acceptable.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required as applicable. AHA, ARC, or military certification acceptable.
• Competency exams (including medication/pharmacology): Required as applicable by profession. Must meet or exceed the Angoff score or otherwise achieve a passing score.

Background and Screening

• Government-issued photo ID
• 7-year criminal search within 1 year of start, including county, nationwide, sex offender, and PA statewide searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or third-party verification accepted)
• PA Childline search within 1 year of start
• PA FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start, completed in Pennsylvania. Results must be on file before start.

Health and Immunizations

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Tdap within the past 10 years (facility declination form accepted)
• TB: negative PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot within 6 months of start, or chest X-ray within 5 years of start. Annual TB questionnaire required if positive.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella: positive titer or vaccine series required. Facility declination accepted only with titer or vaccine documentation.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
• Alcohol breathalyzer within 30 days of start
• COVID vaccine or facility declination required
• Flu vaccine or facility declination required during flu season (November to April). Candidates who decline must wear a mask through March 31.

Onboarding and Other Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
• Skills checklist required annually
• Passport-style photo for badge
• Bloodborne pathogen quiz, orientation packet, and medical surveillance checklist completed before start
