Oncology - Pediatric Registered Nurse

Location: San Diego, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: November 9

Schedule

Shift: Nights, 3x12 variable (19:00 to 07:00)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. For nights, weekends are Friday and Saturday.
Holidays: Must work 2 of the following 3 holidays, including eves: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's
Guaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed after the call-off policy has been met
RTO: Maximum of 6 days

Unit

Unit: Hematology Inpatient, 38 beds
Focus: BMT, blood cell transplantation, neuroblastoma, anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, hemophilia, ITP, sickle cell anemia, and other hemoglobinopathies
Clinical Care: IV therapy, sedation procedures, post-op care, central lines, Hickman's, port caths, blood products, and chemotherapeutic agents

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Pediatric Hematology / Oncology (2 years of experience)
Pediatric Hematology / Oncology experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
APHON
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Central line management experience

Not on call
Does not float within scope to meet facility needs
Does not float to sister facilities
