Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down RN

Overview

• Travel RN assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• Start date: ASAP
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Telemetry experience
• Intermediate Care experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
• Fast-paced, high patient turnover
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow such as detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass

Float / Scheduling Notes

• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• May be low censused in 4-hour increments and may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Not considered on call
