Unit Details

• Unit: ER
• 24 beds, 0 trauma bays
• Fast track is run out of a separate area; travelers are typically in the main ER
• No inpatient pediatric or behavioral health unit

Required Qualifications

• 2 full years of experience
• Active BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIH
• CA License

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma experience preferred

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Shift times: 0645-1915 / 1845-0715
• Must be flexible
• Every other weekend, with possible every-weekend coverage depending on staffing
• Holidays are expected

Patient Volume and Acuity

• 250 visits per day
• Ratios: 2:1 / 4:1
• Common patient types include STEMI, Cardiac, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, and DKA

Additional Details

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Floating: none
• Floor orientation: 1 day
• Cerner Power Chart is used
• Charge nurse does not take patients
• ER techs assist with tech duties and patient sitting
• RT typically maintains vents
• Phlebotomists draw labs unless central line
• 24/7 RT and pharmacy coverage
