Interim Leader - Nursing Operations Director

Position Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Operating Room experience (3 years)
• Operating Room experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Leadership experience (3-5 years)

Department and Unit Details

• Unit Name: Operating Room
• Staff: 486 total, with 12 direct reports
• Operating Room Suites: 52 total, including 27 main OR suites
• Departments Reporting to the OR Director: OR, preprocedural, sterile processing, surgical techs, surgery center, cardiac/heart services, CPM, and clinical education
• Monthly Volume: 4,120 cases total (Main OR 2,280; CPM 1,000; Endo 229; other 223)
• Case Types: Cardio, Ortho, NICU, Peds, Trauma
• Equipment/Robotics: Robotic, laparoscopic, microsurgery, neurosurgery, hybrid
• Facility Designations: Level 1 Trauma, Level 1 STEMI Center, Level 1 Stroke Center, Level 4 NICU
• Management Structure: Each department has a manager
• Scheduling: Anesthesia runs the board with one of the staff charge nurses. Block scheduling has limited openings for newer surgeons until they meet criteria.
