ICU/CCU RN

Location: Los Alamitos, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Day shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 to 19:30), 36 hours per week

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, minimum of 1 year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within the past year, with a 7-year search, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• TB: negative PPD, TSpot, or QuantiFERON within 1 year. Positive results require a negative chest X-ray within 4 years and an annual TB questionnaire.
• N95 fit test within 1 year, renewed annually. PAPR documentation is accepted only after a documented failed N95 fit test.
• Tdap vaccine. If the candidate cannot get it for a health reason, a Pertussis titer showing immunity is required.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer, or 2 vaccines after age 1
• Hepatitis B: vaccine series or declination required. Titer is not accepted.
• Hepatitis C: titer strongly preferred; declination accepted if necessary
• Flu vaccine by 12/5, or a signed declination. Candidates who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and do not have a current flu vaccine must wear masks across university grounds.
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant drug screen acceptable)
• 2 references within 1 year, from a leadership role (department manager, supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, or assistant nurse manager), in the current specialty

• ICU Traveler Tip Sheet (signature required for travel and per diem)
• Pyxis agreement, due 5 business days before orientation (required for travel RNs)
• Confidentiality agreement, completed within 72 hours of signing
• Epidural pain policy review
• Standard of care: skin care packet and attestation
• Orientation packet and acknowledgment, skills self-assessment, unit job description, and traveler acknowledgment
