Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Float Required: Yes

• Minimum years of experience: 1 year

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (1 year of experience, within the last year)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Competencies and Exams

• Medication/pharmacology exam (required for RNs)
• Unit-specific competency exam
• Basic dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for Tele RNs)
• Infection control/bloodborne pathogens exam, scored 80% or higher. The full exam is required; CORE exams are not accepted in its place.

Health and Immunizations

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (PAPR documentation accepted only after a documented failed N95 fit test)
• TB screening: negative PPD, TSpot, or QuantiFERON within 1 year of start. A positive result requires a negative chest X-ray within 4 years and an annual TB questionnaire.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer, or 2 vaccines after age 1. Negative or equivocal titers require 2 boosters, and the candidate may start with the 2nd booster pending.
• Hepatitis B: vaccine series or declination. Titer is not acceptable.
• Hepatitis C titer strongly preferred; declination accepted if necessary
• Tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap. If the candidate cannot obtain it for a health reason, a pertussis titer showing immunity is required. Declining Tdap without immunity results in cancellation.
• Seasonal flu vaccine by 12/5 (2026-27 season), or a signed declination. Candidates who decline must follow masking guidelines.
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen accepted)

Background and Documentation

• Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually (7-year search)
• Signed HIPAA acknowledgement
• Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Confidentiality agreement, completed within 72 hours of signing
• Signed unit-specific job description
• Pyxis agreement, due 5 business days before orientation (travel and per diem RNs)
• Review and acknowledgement of the epidural pain policy (all RNs)
• Standard of Care: Skin Care packet with signed attestation (all RNs)
• Traveler acknowledgement (Joint Commission Readiness, Physician Rounding Clinical Update, and National Patient Safety Goals for Hospitals)
• Sexual violence and sexual harassment policy review
• CA Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and Contract Staff Demographics/Emergency Contact forms (required at Lakewood locations)

Orientation

• Orientation modules are completed onsite, so the candidate does not need to complete them beforehand.
• The orientation packet must be reviewed and the appropriate acknowledgement signed.
