Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Long Term Care (LTC)

Location: Ada, Oklahoma Employment Type: Temporary Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 8 hours per day

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Oklahoma
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience within the last year, with at least 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation setting

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, medically necessary rehabilitative treatment to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders, under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
• Administer rehabilitation procedures such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress, document treatment in the clinical record, and report treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Record treatment minutes and provide input for discharge summaries
• Consult with patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers about cognitive and/or physical disorders
• Communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with the supervisor and health team
• Obtain necessary DME or supplies with the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
• Attend required meetings, such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• Complete required facility and company trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Follow NBCOT/AOTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
• Maintain active state licensure/registration when applicable
