Unit Details

• Unit Name: Women's Services
• Building: Main hospital
• Beds and Rooms: 9 L&D, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
• Patient Ratio: 1-2
• Staffing: Unit secretary and scrub tech; dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7; OBGYN on call
• Patient Experience Requirement: Remain above 75%

Schedule and Floating

• Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Floating: May float to M/B or an outside department to perform a task

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN, Fetal monitoring
• Must have a drive to provide the highest quality of care to laboring patients
• Must be able to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference

Preferred Skills

• Spinning Babies skills (helpful)
• STABLE training (helpful)

• Circulating in OR
• IUPC
• FSE
• MgSO4
• Postpartum hemorrhage management with JADA system
• Nitrous oxide

• Couplet care in the postpartum unit, keeping the newborn at the bedside and promoting breastfeeding, with donor milk available when needed
• 8-bed level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP 24/7, who attends all high-risk deliveries when needed

• Pilot site for NTSV and Team Birth

Dress Code

• Hot pink and black uniform; black bottoms are allowed, but hot pink tops are preferred
