Overview

• Location: Oakland, California
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 7:30
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend and whenever unit need requires
• On call: As needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• 6 months or more of total travel experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Certification)

Floating

• May float to other units within scope of practice.
• Depending on need and census, may float to another campus.
• Travelers can usually expect 1.5 hours' notice before shift start.
• A shuttle is provided if floating is requested.

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background checks, including a 7-year background check, sex offender search, and federal exclusion database searches
• Employment history covering the full 7 years, with no gaps
• Two professional references
• Primary source license verification and NURSYS verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• TB screening within 90 days of start, with annual renewal
• Immunization documentation (MMR, varicella, Tdap, and hepatitis B) or approved exemption
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start
• Fit test within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documentation during flu season
• Respiratory safety clearance, renewed annually
• Facility orientation, required policy acknowledgments, and a unit-specific skills checklist
