Overview

• Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
• 13-week contract
• Primary location: Gateway
• 12-hour day shift, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week; may accept 48-hour contracts upon request
• No local candidates within a 40-mile radius
• No blocked schedule requests

Unit / Patient Population

• 37-bed neuro and neuro-surgical unit
• Patient population includes CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram, general medical, and psych patients

Float Scope

• First to float within skillset
• May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
• Cross-campus float notice is 2 hours
• Mid-shift float within the same campus is possible

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Neurology (2 years of experience)
• Neurology experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Trauma experience
• Experience with Epic
• Heparin gtt initiation and titration
• Indwelling drain management

Additional Expectations

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• May be required to precept students and new hires
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday
• Navy blue scrubs
• No competing health systems or agency logos
