Schedule and Call

• Monday through Friday, 4 x 10-hour shifts (7a to 5:30p). The source also lists the schedule as M-F 8 to 4:30, so confirm the exact hours.
• Call: 1-2 shifts per week, plus every 3rd or 4th weekend
• Possible holiday call
• 30-minute call-back time

Assignment Details

• Covers both vascular and neuro interventional radiology.
• Performs about 20-30 cases per day, depending on the day and provider coverage.
• Neuro procedures require above-average skill in cerebral procedures, coiling, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting.
• Equipment: Canon in body/vascular IR rooms, Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos in neuro rooms, and GE ultrasound in all rooms.
• Scrubs are provided.
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency; the facility will not provide it.

Core Duties

• Monitor hemodynamics, ECG, and blood pressure, and document and report all activity to the physician.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare the entry site and supplies for procedures.
• Prepare and check patients before procedures.
• Act as the lab's code team, starting resuscitative measures and using defibrillators under physician supervision.
• Document procedures and bill for them correctly, and manage department inventory.
• Instruct radiography students in clinical settings.
• Take part in education, in-services, and performance improvement activities.
