MRI Tech Trainer

Location: Paris, Tennessee Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 6 months Unit/Assignment: MRI tech "trainer," responsible for training and supporting less experienced MRI staff

Schedule

• Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4x10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week)
• No call
• No weekends
• Willing to work with clinician on holiday coverage

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with 3 years of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in Educator roles
• Siemens imaging equipment experience
• Experience training and supporting less experienced MRI staff
• Epic experience

Onboarding and Compliance

• Background checks: Completed within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years. Includes SS trace, counties, nationwide search, FACIS Level 3, and sex offender registry. Updated annually. Instant searches are not accepted as placeholders for pending counties. International search required if recently worked outside the US.
• Exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG): Completed within 30 days of start and updated with each contract renewal or extension.
• Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start. Instant drug screens are not acceptable.
• Electronic health record test-out: Failure to pass on site adds 10 orientation hours to the contract.
• Appearance standards: Review and sign prior to start.
• Physical exam: Initial physical attesting to ability to meet job physical demands, completed within one year of start. Not required annually.
• N95 fit test: Completed within one year of start and updated annually. Prefers completion before start; on-site completion is allowed only case by case. PAPR not allowed. Contract cancelled if candidate does not pass.
• TB: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within one year of start. Past positive requires clear chest X-ray within five years of start and annual TB questionnaire. TB questionnaire required for all candidates and updated annually.
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, mumps, rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (low/equivocal titers require 1 booster)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (low/equivocal titers require 1 booster)
  • Hepatitis B: titer or series (low/equivocal titers require 1 booster; declination form required if booster declined)
  • COVID: vaccine or medical/religious exemption prior to start
• Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (11/1 to 3/31). Deadline for working candidates is 10/30. Declinations and medical/religious exemptions are not accepted. Offered on site at no cost through Employee Health Services.
