Schedule
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:30)
- 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
Float Scope
- May float to one other ED location, 3 miles away
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Emergency Department (ED) experience of 2 years
- Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
Other Requirements
- Background: 7-year background check, sex offender search, federal exclusion database searches, and education verification completed before start
- Employment history: 7 years of work history on the application with no gaps, and verification of employment (references are required for clinical candidates)
- Health: Physical exam within 1 year, negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months, TB screening, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination, Tdap within 10 years, annual fit test, and seasonal flu vaccination or declination
- Documents: Facility orientation booklet and post-test, confidentiality and HIPAA agreements, code of conduct, and electronic health record questionnaire (RNs), all completed before start
- Competencies: Competency exam, medication/pharmacology exam, and a dysrhythmia/EKG exam for some telemetry units
