ER RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Redlands, California Start Date: 12/08 (candidate must be pre-closed for this date at submission) Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Assignment Details

• Fast-paced ER
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:30)
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Minimum weekend coverage: every other weekend
• Time off: a single set of RTO up to 7 consecutive days will be considered; no holiday RTO
• Provider coverage: Intensivist, NP, Hospitalist, and Anesthesiologist
• Provider support: interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Experience with central line management
• IV insertion skills
• Experience with ventilator management
• Interpretation/Management of dysrhythmias
• Continuous IV Sedation
• IV Vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP

Health, Background, and Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, updated annually, including SSN trace, county searches for the last 7 years, nationwide sex offender search, and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Drug screen: 10-panel including THC within 30 days of start; lab reports only (summary results not valid)
• TB: 2-step PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-Spot within 90 days of start, updated annually; a TB questionnaire is required for any past positive
• Physical exam with physician statement within the last 12 months, updated annually
• Tdap within 10 years or declination (mask required if declining)
• Rubeola, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B: positive titer or vaccines within 90 days of start, with declination rules applying to negative or equivocal results; those born before 1957 are exempt from measles, mumps, and rubella requirements
• COVID vaccines plus booster, or an agency-approved medical/religious exemption
• Flu vaccine or declination due by 10/31 (mask required if declining)
• In-office Ishihara color blind exam
• Fit testing for respirator masks (no facial hair in the sealing area)
• E-Verify required
• Valid government-issued photo ID (passport acceptable)
• Competency exams as applicable to profession and specialty
