RN - OBS

• Location: Golden, Colorado
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Day shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (0700-1930), 36 hours per week; weekends rotating
• Employment Type: Clinical Nursing

Role Summary

• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions under accepted practice standards set by the state Board of Nursing
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, including ongoing health data collection, health teaching, and health counseling
• Provides supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
• Executes delegated medical functions, refers patients for further evaluation or treatment, and reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans
• Documents in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
• May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing, or graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), as appropriate for the unit or service
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Observation experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Certification as appropriate for the unit or service

Step-Down/PCU Candidates Only

• Minimum 1+ years of experience
• RN license (single state or compact)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Floating scope: Telemetry units, orthopedic surgical trauma, and an acuity-adaptable unit (step-down example patients include those on insulin drips and sepsis patients)
