Peds/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN

Schedule

• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• No on-call required

Role Description

• Provides ground transportation of infants and pediatric patients from surrounding hospitals, ERs, and L&D/NICU units to a higher level of care.
• Works with the transportation team of RTs and the advanced practice provider.
• May float to cover as a bedside nurse in NICU, PICU, or Peds units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in ground transportation
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure, current and issued by AAP, AHA, or the Canadian Paediatric Society

Eligibility Notes

• Permanent employees of other facilities in the system are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months.
• The facility honors active compact licenses.

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering the past 7 years, updated annually. Includes education verification and a Washington State Patrol (WATCH) search.
• Federal exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG) within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by an MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start.
• Immunizations or documented declinations: TDAP within 10 years, MMR (2 doses or positive titer), varicella, hepatitis B, flu (seasonal), and COVID (vaccination record preferred).
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) and fit testing for travel assignments.
• Annual regulatory training modules (about 3.5 hours).
• Multi-state compact license holders working in Washington must complete the state attestation before starting.
