Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 10 weeks Shift: Day (5x8.5 hours) or Day (4x8.5 hours), 6:45-15:15

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Operating Room experience of at least 1 year
• Operating Room experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Schedule and Work Setting

• Weekdays only, with one weekday off every 2 weeks (40 hours)
• Every other weekend, unless specified otherwise
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per contract
• Floating is rare
• Ratio: 7 rooms with an average daily census of 20-25
• Main OR does not perform: neurosurgery, L&D, endoscopy, cardiothoracic surgery (including hearts, Whipples, liver ablations), or other complex surgeries
• ENT is performed in the outpatient surgery center
• Most procedures are outpatient, with about 95% going home the same day
• Procedures include total joints, spine, sports medicine, podiatry, general/laparoscopic, robotics, vascular (including EVARs), and urology/cystoscopy
• Scrub color provided by the facility
• Systems used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR (software familiarity only, not a credential)

Call and Holidays

• Call is minimal for weekday schedules, as in-house teams cover weekends and nights
• For weekend schedules, call is 1 major holiday per contract
• Major holidays: 1 holiday worked if one falls in the assignment, both if two fall, and two of three if three fall
• Major holidays include New Year's Eve and Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and Christmas Eve and Day

Process Notes

• Candidates are reviewed by clinical staff for fit, then sent to the manager for final decision
• Clinical screens are handled case by case
• Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (for example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment)
