RN Med Surg

Location: Austin, Texas Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Contract Length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Works with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and requires critical thinking and decisive judgment.

Responsibilities:

• Implements and monitors patient care plans, and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Follows Standard Precautions and uses personal protective equipment as required

Populations Served: Young adults (17 to <30), middle adults (30 to <60), and older adults (>60)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• At least 1 year of Med Surg experience, with Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
