Float Pool RN - Intensive Care Unit

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a), weekend and holiday rotation, 36 hours per week

Role Overview

• Float Pool RN who floats between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU.
• Candidates must be comfortable moving across these units and caring for patients of varying acuity.
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, medication and treatment administration, patient and family education, discharge planning, and delegation and oversight of team members.
• Includes hourly patient rounding, bedside shift report, and prioritizing care as patient needs change.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Float experience (1 year of experience)
• Float experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs, frequent walking, repetitive motion and bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues.
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases.
• Adherence to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements.
