Medical Laboratory Technician
Location: Moab, Utah Specialty: Medical Laboratory Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 38 Shift: 7 on 7 off. Wed/Thu 8p-6:30a, Fri/Sat/Sun 6p-8a, Mon/Tue 8p-6:30a
Role Overview
- Provide accurate and timely test results that help providers determine patient care needs.
- Work as a strong generalist across laboratory areas, including gathering samples, performing analysis, and delivering results.
- Serve as a willing and capable phlebotomist when needed.
- Move easily between laboratory areas within the same shift.
Requirements
- Current ASCP certification.
- Medical Lab Technician with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Phlebotomy experience, willing and able to perform venous and arterial blood collection.
- Experience as a generalist across lab benches, including microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation studies, urine studies, serology, and blood gas testing.
- Experience on the microbiology bench.
- Experience on the hematology bench.
- Experience on the chemistry bench.
- Experience in the blood bank.
- Experience with coagulation studies.
- Experience with urine studies.
- Serology experience.
- Blood gas experience.
- Able to lift/move up to 15 lbs. without assistance and weights beyond 15 lbs. with assistance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read microbiology results independently (preferred).
- Microbiology reading experience (preferred for a strong generalist).

- Emotionally mature and able to stay composed in stressful or STAT situations.
- Self-motivated, with strong management skills.
- Reliable and timely with work schedule.
- Works in a confidential manner.
- Flexible, willing to modify schedule for time-off requests, and willing to accept other duties as assigned.
