Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina Employment Type: Travel/Contract Unit: 5T, 22-bed adult Medical Surgical Oncology unit Contract Length: 13 weeks, with possible extension Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 to 19:00), 36 hours per week Shift Dates: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as needed Ratio: Medical Surgical 1:5-6 Scrubs: Not provided (royal blue/white)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse license in South Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required for Med Surg RNs)
IV insertion skills

Restrictions

Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
Accepts first-time travelers
Does not accept any license or background hits

Assignment Details

Travelers float between other Medical Surgical and telemetry floors as needed.
Chemotherapy certification is not required for this unit.
Complete about 81 training modules before the first shift. Up to 8 hours may be logged for orientation.

Pre-Start Requirements

Background: Criminal background check within 30 days of start (SSN trace, 7-year county searches, nationwide, and sex offender checks), plus EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
Drug testing: 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
Health: Physical exam, Tdap within 10 years, negative TB test within 1 year (or TB questionnaire on file), and TB questionnaire for positive responders
Immunizations or titers: Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series), plus flu and COVID vaccines or facility declination forms
Photo: Badge photo meeting facility standards
Performance evaluation: Required if you have completed any prior agency assignments
