Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Role

• Neuro ICU Registered Nurse
• Travel assignment
• Primary location: Gateway

Schedule

• 12-hour nights
• Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Will accept 48-hour contracts upon request
• Start date: 11/16 or 11/23
• Bi-weekly orientation
• 11/23 off-orientation approved

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
• Neuro ICU experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Dysphagia screen
• Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers required to pass tele tests)
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• CRRT
• tPa administration/assessments
• Massive transfusion (Belmont)
• Hard worker
• Resilient and manages change well
• Social candidates

Unit Details

• 32 beds
• Ratios: Days 1:3; NOCs 1:3; CN typically 1:1
• External ventriculostomy devices on the unit
• Patient population includes general ICU, post stroke, CRRT, sepsis, DKA, post code, respiratory distress, and neuro patients with drains, biopsies, and ventriculostomy

Float / Coverage

• First to float within skillset
• May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
• Mid-shift float within the same campus
• Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible

Other Details

• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday
• On-call: N/A
• No local candidates within 40 miles
• Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires
• Navy blue scrubs
• No competing health systems or agency logos
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• COVID-19 vaccine not required, subject to change
