Stepdown Neuro (Registered Nurse)

Location: Seattle, Washington Employment Type: Travel/Contract Start Date: ASAP Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:30), 36 hours per week

Facility and Unit

• Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma facility with 500 staffed beds
• Scrub color: Blue
• Patient population: Neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy patients, including traumatic brain injury, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping and coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, seizure, epilepsy, change in mental status, and telemetry
• Ratios: 1:4-5 (acute care ratios)
• Parking: Onsite parking available at additional cost, with an offsite garage option and shuttle

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 2 years of Neuro PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, with Neuro PCU experience within the last year
• Stepdown experience
• Certifications: BLS issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) and NIHSS
• Required skills: IV start, telemetry, and care for tracheostomy
• Experience with Epic

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend, with flexibility required
• Not on call
• Block schedule not accepted
• Travelers are first to float within scope to meet facility needs
• No more than 6 days RTO
• Holidays: 1 of 3 major holidays off; must work 2 holidays (evening or day)
• Guaranteed hours: facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week pay period
• Local candidates accepted
